Project Description
The need to simplify the workload in this large rear garden meant it was bed time for this and an adjacent overgrown rockery bed. This bed also needed to be laid to turf to help simplify the considerable mowing the garden regularly requires.
After carefully removing all the surface rocks and discovering all the half buried rocks, it was time to remove all the shrubbery, most of which was overgrown and leggy. It did however put up quite a fight and the result was a now empty bed with a very uneven level and full of large holes. Time for my tryst EGO rotivator which make quick work of not just breaking up the long compacted soil but reducing it to a consistency suitable for raking level.
Changing weather meant this was now left for a week or so to settle before being carefully prepped prior to neatly trimming and laying the turf. From the house, you can’t even see where the bed used to be and within a matter of weeks, the fresh turf had bedded in and looked as it had always been there..
